Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Beno Gorancic. In late 2009 I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (Software), Diploma in Engineering Practice and graduated early 2010 with Honours at the University of Technology, Sydney.
I currently hold the position of Software Engineer at a large financial organisation. I am currently involved in the implementation and maintenance of the Pricing Engine for Personal Insurance and Commercial Insurance. It is based on J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans and runs on a JBoss application server. I am currently also responsible for the migration to JBoss 5.0.1 EAP from JBoss 4.3 EAP.
Prior to this I worked and held the position of Software Developer/Tester for Cognethos. Cognethos is a software engineering and consultancy company specialising in financial markets services.
Before joining Cognethos I worked as the sole Software Developer and provided IT support to Foseco. I spent most of my time developing software for company internal use.
One of my latest creations is CrossCollaborate; a network based real-time diagramming application which I spent many months working on and completed late November 2009. It allows users to collaborate together regardless of their physical location. Think of it as a simplified version of Microsoft Visio with network support.
I have had a keen interest in software development for more than ten years, during which time I have had the opportunity to learn and use a number of tools such as Visual Basic.Net, C#, C/C++, Java, SQL, JavaScript, (X) HTML, CSS and PHP.
Currently I spend my time updating TPGbitometer and learning Cocoa in order to write some applications for the Apple iPhone.
Outside study and work, I like to socialise with people, play football (soccer) for a local club, work out at the gym when I find the time and develop software.
